If you have felony conviction on your record for simple drug possession or petty theft under $950, you may be able to reduce this felony to a misdemeanor on your record under Prop. 47. You might also be eligible for other legal remedies to help clean up your record.
On November 4, 2014, California voters passed Proposition 47, a law that changed certain low-level crimes from potential felonies to misdemeanors. The savings from reduced incarceration costs will be invested into drug and mental health treatment, programs for at-risk students in K-12 schools, and victim services.
"What the voters did is really a blessing—not just for me, but for a lot of people. It gives people a second chance at life."

If you also have a previous conviction for some serious crimes in addition to the above crimes, you will not be eligible for a record change under Prop. 47. Click here for a full list of crimes that will exclude you from getting your record changed.
